Bianca Mundy joins Partners for Purpose Board

The Board of Partners for Purpose is pleased to announce the appointment of Bianca Mundy to the role of Board observer focusing on brand and marketing.

Bianca is a welcome addition to the Board. She brings considerable expertise in commercial marketing, brand development and digital strategy. 

Bianca will focus on strengthening the organisation’s fundraising strategy and lifting brand awareness. The Board’s Chair, Dan Barrins, explained “I’m really excited with Bianca’s appointment. Her experience in brand and marketing will bring a huge amount to Partners for Purpose. Bianca’s involvement will help us position the organisation as a leading provider of specialist consultancy services to charities”.

Partners for Purpose specialises in supporting Australian charities and has a number of pro-bono employment opportunities for people looking to give back to the community.  We are currently seeking expressions of interest from working professionals to fill lead consulting roles on special projects.

The charities we serve never rest, and neither does the Chair of Partners for Purpose.  In a show of support for our partner organisations, Dan Barrins has set out to run every single day this year. We are well into June and Dan has already run more than 150 days in a row.

Show your support for Partners for Purpose by sponsoring Dan and making sure he gets to the finish line.

Here's what Dan is doing:

•  Dan has agreed to run every single day of 2017
•  He's committed to running a minimum of 3km every single day: rain; hail; sunshine; or in sickness
•  He's also putting his money where his mouth is, and will donate $100 for any day that he misses

Congratulations, you did it!

Another fantastic week of donations has seen us smash through our original target and we are now sitting at $6,450.

This is an amazing effort from all those who have donated. If you haven't had a chance to donate, it's not too late and your contribution now will help to establish a solid financial basis for the future.

Your Opportunity to Get Involved

In addition to our call for volunteers, we also need financial assistance from the cohort to make Partners for Purpose a financially viable and legally registered charity. To do this, we are seeking to raise $5,000 to pay for legal fees and other establishment costs.

What we’re calling for is a one-off donation, which will not be tax deductible, for establishment purposes.

With this money we can:

• Apply for registered charitable status;
• Create a legally registered corporate trustee;
• Set up a compliant trust fund;
• Apply for Deductible Gift Recipient status from the ATO;
• Cover some upfront costs for the launch event;
• Create basic marketing and paraphernalia; and
• Cover other start-up costs.

For the initial fundraising, Chris Bu has established a bank account for the sole use of the foundation. Chris has committed to providing regular reconciliation and total transparency to the cohort and will be acting as treasurer and financial controller for the committee.

Inaugural EMBA 2015 Evening and Foundation Launch

Partners for Purpose will be launched in style at the inaugural EMBA 2015 Evening in Melbourne on 23 July! 

In addition to it being our annual social event, the evening marks a significant milestone in the evolution of our new foundation. 

The committee has been working hard for the past six months to establish a footing on which to build a powerful, sustainable force for change in the “for-purpose” sector. 

We have developed strong connections with pro-bono legal support, for-purpose organisations and Melbourne Business School. We’ve undertaken extensive market testing and developed a robust operational framework to ensure that the foundation is fit for purpose and will attract the right partners and projects.

In July, it will be nearly a year since we’ve all been together as a group. In our final EMBA weekend we talked at length about Partners for Purpose being a way to maintain contact and build camaraderie into the future. We stand on the cusp of a wonderful moment in our cohort’s history, and we’re looking to YOU to help make it as big and successful as possible. Our legacy begins NOW!
