In addition to our call for volunteers, we also need financial assistance from the cohort to make Partners for Purpose a financially viable and legally registered charity. To do this, we are seeking to raise $5,000 to pay for legal fees and other establishment costs.
What we’re calling for is a one-off donation, which will not be tax deductible, for establishment purposes.
With this money we can:
- Apply for registered charitable status;
- Create a legally registered corporate trustee;
- Set up a compliant trust fund;
- Apply for Deductible Gift Recipient status from the ATO;
- Cover some upfront costs for the launch event;
- Create basic marketing and paraphernalia; and
- Cover other start-up costs.
For the initial fundraising, Chris Bu has established a bank account for the sole use of the foundation. Chris has committed to providing regular reconciliation and total transparency to the cohort and will be acting as treasurer and financial controller for the committee.
